Mil-Tec Tent 3 person with storage space

This is such a cool little tent!  The Mil-tec Tent 3 person tent with storage space is made by Sturm Tactical and Outdoor products, which is based in Germany.  I randomly found this online as I was trying to decide which tent I would like for summer camping, and I ended up choosing this one.    This is essentially a three pole tent, so it’s pretty simple to set up.  Weighing in at around 6 lbs, this probably isn’t the best kind of tent for backpackers, as the package it comes in is somewhat cumbersome and heavy.  But, for the casual summer camping trip, or even a music festival, this tent really shines.

The tent is made up of an exterior shell and interior tent, which is made of breathable polyester.    The interior tent is hung upon the shell once it’s up using the three poles.  Pretty easy to set up, if I do say so myself.  My favorite part of this tent, however, is the storage / sitting area.  It’s unique and sets it apart from a lot of the other tents that are available.  If you utilize a tarp underneath this storage area, you have an excellent place to keep your bags / wet and muddy boots without having to compromise the sleeping area of the tent!  It’s also spacious enough to put a couple chairs and substitute as a covered sitting area.     It also has a canopy of sorts that you can either set up and use for additional shade, or bring down to protect your gear from the elements.

While this is by no means an arctic tent, it should give you pretty great shelter in spring, summer and fall camping scenarios!   It would be great for festivals, or just a casual camping trip.  It’s not the lightest tent in the world, so if you’re looking for a true bug-out tent you may want to find something that isn’t as heavy.
