Zukka Bicycle U Lock review

For many people, a bicycle is a major investment and represents their main mode of transportation.  Bikes can range from a few hundred dollars, to several thousand – and their utilities are wide and varied.  However, bicycles also represent one of the most tempting items to be taken by thieves.  Without a solid locking system, every time you leave your bike at a rack is a potential opportunity for a thief to steal it.  That’s why today, we’re looking at the ZUKKA bicycle U lock.

The Zukka Bicycle U lock is a solid piece of equipment to help you secure your bike and feel confident that it will represent an adequate challenge to a would be thief.  Unfortunately, given enough time, any object can be stolen – that’s why a good bicycle lock will function as something that would take more time than would be convenient for a criminal.  The Zukka bicycle U lock comes with the U lock itself, as well as a 47.24″ long metal cable enshrouded in plastic.  To me, this is the added bonus of the U lock as it allows you to be able to secure both tires and the frame to a bike rack or other anchor point, and make it too time consuming for someone to attempt to steal it.

The Zukka Bicycle U lock also features a mounting bracket so that you can attach the U lock to the bicycle’s frame while you are travelling – this is a great feature in case you are without a backpack or other container to keep the lock in while you are using the bike.  the mounting bracket also features some rubber spacers to account for the differences in width of various bike frames.  The Lock slides onto the mounting bracket and clicks into position via a plastic button.

Overall – if you’re looking for a reasonably priced bicycle lock – the Zukka bicycle U lock is a decent choice!  It comes with 3 keys to unlock the U and the locking mechanism has a plastic cover that keeps dirt and grime out of the locking mechanism while you’re away from the bike.  While no lock can perfectly secure a bicycle, this is a good option that’s fairly priced.  Check it out below and let me know what you think!
