The Art of Shen ku The First Intergalactic Artform of the Entire Universe

I wanted to start this new review site with what is definitely my favorite book!   I actually happened upon this book by listening to an obscure podcast on Youtube where the host was discussing books you’d need for the end of the world.  I have since collected all of the books mentioned, but The Art of Shen Ku:  The first Intergalactic Artform of the Entire Universe holds a place dear in my heart.
Written by an author with the pseudonym Zeek, The Art of Shen Ku is part survival manual, part comic book, and overall a great piece of art!   The book covers all sorts of topics, anything from how to make sailing knots, to acupuncture, herbs, and even how to improve your sex life!

 

Here are just a few snippets from the table of contents:

• how to catch fish in survival situations
• A traveler’s Asian health secrets
• How to deal with bullies & bandits
• How to execute classic martial art stretches
• A traveler’s guide to stain removal

As  you can see, the contents of this book are wide ranging.  The book’s in a very comic book style, so it’s sometimes a bit of a puzzle to decipher – but that makes it all the more fun.  Probably not the best book if you’re in a dire situation, but it makes for an excellent coffee table book – people always ask me about it when they are visiting my house.  I couldn’t recommend this book more highly as a fun starter guide to your survival library.
