NUCHARGER S810 Tri-Fold 10W Solar Panel and Power bank review

A package arrived for me this weekend and I can’t tell you how excited I was to check it out.  The folks over at NuVending were super cool and wanted me to try out a few products and show them to all you prepper people out there!  So today I present to you the NUCHARGER S810 Tri-Fold 10W Solar Panel and Power bank!

This is a perfect solution for anyone out camping, hiking or if you have to bug out in a hurry and want to ensure you’ll be able to charge up your electronics in the boonies.   The NUCHARGER S810  is a compact folding solar charger that features a 10W battery bank and two high temperature rated solar panels.  It’s pretty lightweight but upon touching the material you can tell it’s been put together with strength and durability put in mind.   It’s lightweight, and according to my scale weighs in at about 1.2 pounds.    The power bank portion of the charger folds over the panels and seals with Velcro, making a compact package that is about the size of a smaller tablet device.

An included USB plug splits into three different charger inserts – an android Micro type B, an Iphone style charger, and an older model Ipod cord.   it also comes with two small carabiners that allow you to hang the charger unit vertically in order to maximize sun exposure (or I imagine you could hang it inside of a sunny window and get a pretty good charge that way).  I put the package to the test this morning to charge my completely dead Samsung Galaxy Tab 4.  I went out onto the back patio, plugged her in, and let the solar panels of the NUCHARGER S810 do their magic in the bright morning sun.    I did wrap my tablet inside of a blanket in order to keep it out of the direct sun, but the chargers were just fine sitting in the hot environment.  I

went inside for about 25 minutes and then brought both items in, unplugged my tablet and fired it up.  It was at 17% charge from zero charge after only 25 minutes!  That’s a pretty impressive ratio if you ask me!  When the unit is actively converting sun light, you will notice that the LED lights on the side of the power bank will blink indicating the unit is creating power.  This is an excellent charger for all of you outdoor enthusiasts, or in case of a power outage emergency.  Never be without the ability to juice up your gear!
