What an exciting weekend! The folks at Grand Way Knives were kind enough to send me this little beauty in the mail and I’m impressed! Grand Way Knives is a new company to me, but through talking to them and getting to take a look at their products and price point, I gotta say I am loving it.
I went out to the mail box this morning and found the Grand Way Knives Fixed Spear Point Knife waiting for me in a happy little package. The knife came with a nylon sheath that has a sturdy belt loop, and from first impressions the sheath is adequate (although I may hire my leather working friend later on to help me make a new leather sheath for it)
This is a fixed blade knife, and it’s very pretty I must say. The spear point blade is new to me, as I’ve never had a knife with quite the shape but this thing comes sharp so be careful when you unsheath it! the spear point blade is forged from 440C Stainless steel and is very sturdy from my fiddling around with it, and from the quality of the edge I doubt I will have to sharpen this thing anytime soon. The steel also makes this knife resistant to corrosion and maintain edge sharpness for a long time to come. The handle is made of a very smooth rosewood, giving the knife a classic “Bowie knife” style look. It’s easy to grip but what I like most is that there’s enough room for my hand to fit comfortably around the handle even while wearing leather gloves. The pommel also features a small hole in which you can loop a string or piece of leather to for easier handling access.
What I’m digging most about the Grand Way Knives Fixed Spear Point Knife is that it seems like a very good quality for the price point (under $30 as of the writing of this article) and Grand Way Knives also offers a 10 year warranty so you can put in quite a bit of cutting and usage in this knife and still know it’s covered for a long time. Comparing this knife to some of the other larger fixed blades I have, I’m very impressed with its quality when you put it side by side to more expensive knives. I’m excited to take this with me on my next outdoor adventure and put it to the test out in the elements.
Grand Way Knives has been around for 15 years in the knife industry, and they have a wide variety of knife styles to choose from – so if this one doesn’t float your boat, I highly recommend you check them out on either their website or amazon. They’ve got everything from folding pocket knives to meat cleavers & multi tools, so if variety is your thing I definitely think you should check these guys out! These are European knives, from the Ukraine.
