If you’re new to preparedness and not really sure where to start, a likely beginning is putting together what’s affectionatly known as the “bug out bag”  or 72 hour kit ( there’s a multitude of names for these)  Essentially, these kits are a portable backpack or other carrying bag with all the necessities you would need for getting out of your immediate situation in a hurry.  Now, people like to customize these to their own situations or what they think the most imminent disaster might be, but it can become quickly overwhelming for someone who’s just starting to think about this kind of thing.  Luckily for you, there’s a great assortment of pre made bug out bags available online that will easily cover most of the bases for you.  Then, later on you can add more items to it to customize the bag for your own unique situation.
