Hello campers!
As you may know from watching my videos on the subject, I joined Battlbox in January of this year. After having seen others make reviews and receive all sorts of cool gear – I decided to take the plunge and signed up for a Battlbox Subscription. So far, I’ve been pleasantly surprised and I look forward to receiving my box each month.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Battlbox subscription product, you essentially receive a box once a month that will feature an assortment of survival, tactical and camping gear. My understanding is that in years past, these boxes (called missions) had a specific theme to them, ie. hunting, urban survival, first aid, etc. This year however, they have eliminated the themes and the boxes contain a more random assortment of gear. I kind of prefer it this way honestly, because then if you’re not into whatever the theme of the month was then the box would be a bit of a waste.
So, there are four tiers you can select when signing up for a Battlbox subscription, each one will contain more gear and cost more. There are:
Basic – usually contains 3-4 items ~$30- a month
Advanced -$60 a month
Pro – usually the pro level has the “coolest” survival type item ~ $100 a month
Pro Plus – This is considered the “knife of the month” club and guarantees you will receive some sort of knive in the box. Knives also appear sometimes in the lower tiers, so it’s possible you get a box that has 2-3 knives in it depending on what you get. ~$150 a month
So far, I have been on the pro plus box – what can I say, I like knives a lot. I am considering maybe downgrading to the Pro level in the future if I get to a point of saturation of my knive collection. For now, it’s all good though.
So, I am 7 months into my Battlbox subscription and I plan to keep it a full year and then assess if I will continue. As with any subscription box, there will be items that you probably won’t really use, and sometimes the lower tier items will feature edible things such as eat your coffee bars and pumpkin seeds. Obviously, these items are one time use. What I do like about this however is it has introduced me to a ton of new items and brands I previously had no idea about – and I will probably purchase more of them in the future.
There have been months that I was super excited about, and others that weren’t quite as cool, but overall I have been impressed with the breadth and variety of gear that comes in these boxes.
Some of my favorite items have been:
-
-
- Bastion Gear TiRunt knife ( mission 47)
- Urban garden Heirloom Seeds by Patriot seeds (mission 48)
- Zippo Typhoon Matches (misison 49)
- Going Gear rechargeable USB AA batteries (mission 50)
- Wildgame Innovations Terra Extreme 10 Trail Camera (mission 51)
- Battlbox Tupik 2 person tent (mission 52)
- Gerber Suspension NXT Multi Tool (mission 53)
-
As you can see, there’s a ton of varied items you will receive in a battlbox subscription.
These make an excellent gift for the prepper our outdoorsman in your life! You can cancel at any time so there’s no long commitments, or you can purchase individual past missions on an Ala cart basis.
