Hello there, and welcome to Survivaljunk.com! I am a regular run of the mill guy who loves collecting cool gear to help me survive disasters, zombies, you name it! I try to make reviews of items I have found helpful or interesting. You might be asking, why call the site Survival Junk?
The products I review are things I get for myself and use – I try not to review junk products. Rather, I use the term Junk in it’s nautical appearance. A Junk is a type of ancient Chinese sailing vessel that has been around for hundreds of years – often used to transport valuable cargo on sea faring voyages. Hence, as the junk ship used to deliver gear to far away ports, I deliver gear to you over the digital seas!
About me:
I’m in my late 20’s and I have lived in Colorado my entire life. I began college in 2008, right when the economic crisis took over the US – Although I was young and didn’t have any money in the stock market, I could tell this was not a good time. As such, I started getting more interested in the idea of being prepared and trying to make myself more self reliant. Since graduating from college, I have worked in several fields including technical support, search engine optimization, web design, organic farming, and most recently, real estate. When I’m not doing real estate, I enjoy playing guitar, cooking, soccer, hiking and being outdoors. In addition to these hobbies, I am always trying to expand my breadth of survival, camping and outdoor gear, and more importantly knowledge. So, I decided to create this site in order to share some of the stuff I have had the chance to acquire and hopefully it can give you some great ideas on stuff to help you in a disaster, or even just a regular ole camping trip. Survival junk is basically my hobby, brought to you!
