Buck Knives 120 General – a beast of a knife!

As Crocodile Dundee once said, “this is a knife”.   Wow, what an amazing blade from world renowned Buck Knives.  The Buck Knives 120 General is an absolutely gorgeous, sturdy and functional blade that I am so excited to now own!  As a proud new owner of the Buck Knives 120 General,  now I get to show it off to all of you beautiful readers.

So, this is a pretty big knife for starters.  With a blade length of 7 & 3/8″, and overall length of 12″, this is not a pocket knife by any means!  It’s a solid fixed blade, so there’s no pocket knife opening action on this, just handle & blade.   This thing is a monster knife, and comes pretty damn sharp so make sure you use proper knife safety when you open yours up!

The handle of the Buck Knives 120 General is a different material depending on what finish you purchase – I got the black and silver model, which is comprised of a phenolic resin and an aluminum pommel and hand guard, which looks pretty damn sexy if I do say so myself.  If you’re looking for more of a traditional feel, the classic look model’s handle is made up of cocobolo dymondwood and the pommel and guard are comprised of brass.  Both models are absolutely beautiful and I am sure equally functional.

The Buck Knives 120 General also includes a very well made leather sheath, which I love almost as much as the knife itself – it seems that with so many companies that sell fixed blade knives, the sheath is usually lacking in quality – to the point that it’s almost dangerous to use.  But Buck Knife has you covered on this one, and I would feel totally comfortable strapping this to my belt while going hiking, hunting or camping.

So, if you’re looking for a larger fixed blade knife that somewhat resembles the famous Bowie knife style, I would definitely get my hands on a Buck Knives 120 General!  Buck Knife products are also made in the USA, so if you’re the patriotic type, these are a great option.
